“A family lawyer with two decades’ experience, Magnus Mill acts for HNWs, specialising in ‘all’ private family law matters… often of an international nature.”
Spears Top 50
Magnus has been a family lawyer since 2000. He specialises in all aspects of family law arising on relationship breakdown, divorce and separation. He has particular expertise in financial claims arising on the breakdown of marriages and other relationships, including for unmarried couples. Those financial cases can often include substantial assets, offshore asset-holding structures and/or an international element.
He also regularly advises in relation to private law children issues, including contact arrangements, and relocation disputes – both within the UK, and where one parent is seeking to move abroad with the children.
In line with their increasing popularity (and the rise in legal recognition by the Courts that has accompanied that), Magnus is now often asked to prepare and advise on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, as well as cohabitation agreements.
Spears’ Wealth have regularly featured Magnus in their Index of the Top 50 Family Lawyers in England. He has substantial experience ranging from the County Court up to the Court of Appeal, and has been “Recommended” and described as “excellent” in the Legal 500. He was previously a partner in the family department of a well-known family law firm, ranked for family law in the highest tier of the main legal directories, and where he worked for twelve years. Magnus’ clients find him to be very hard-working and devoted to achieving the best outcome for them and their family.
Magnus is also a qualified financial arbitrator, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He finds that arbitration offers an excellent option for resolving financial disputes in family law with far less cost, and far quicker, than traditional Court proceedings. Magnus is enthusiastic about resolving issues away from the court wherever possible and, in addition to being an arbitrator, is also an experienced collaborative lawyer.
When Magnus is not ‘lawyering’, he is often to be found pursuing some kind of adventure outdoors, as he can find it difficult to turn down a physical challenge.
