Katie Longmate

Partner and Mediator

Katie Longmate is a ‘very effective family lawyer’.

Legal 500 2019

Katie has specialised in family law since 2007. Katie joined Alexiou Fisher Philipps in 2011 from a well-known media firm, rising rapidly to become the firm’s first promotion to the partnership in over ten years.

Her experience allows her to offer advice across the full spectrum of family law but she has developed a strong practice in international child relocation cases and disputes involving arrangements for children, including surrogacy cases.

Katie advises on all issues arising from relationship breakdown, including divorce and finances (often with an international element) co-habitation between unmarried couples and the drafting and negotiating of pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

Clients have praised Katie for helping them through what can prove to be an extremely emotional time with her skill and professionalism combined with her considerate but determined approach to getting matters resolved.

Katie has worked on the reported cases of Re L (Residence: Jurisdiction) and the Court of Appeal case of W (Children) regarding relocation, and the leading High Court decision in JKN v JCN regarding jurisdiction of a transatlantic divorce.

Katie is a resolution trained collaborative lawyer and mediator.

Katie is named as one of Spear’s Family Law Rising Stars 2017.
