Daisy Minns Shearer

Senior Associate

“A first-rate service. It is modern in outlook, intelligent in its approach and its standards of service are much valued by clients and respected by peers.”

Legal 500

Daisy advises on a broad range of private family law matters. She has specific experience of complex financial disputes on the breakdown of a relationship, including matters with trusts and international aspects. She has recently been involved in the reported cases of R v B and Capita Trustees [2017] EWFC 33 and IX v IY [2018] EWHC 3053 (Fam) which considered arguments of conduct and litigation misconduct within financial proceedings, and sharing and needs based awards.

Daisy works with clients to resolve the arrangements for their children, including where one parent wishes to relocate. She has experience of matters with a complex make-up, and those with a public law element. Daisy also advises on non-contentious matters such as nuptial and cohabitation agreements, which are gaining increased legal recognition in this jurisdiction.

As a member of Resolution, Daisy strives to establish constructive and non-confrontational solutions to all family matters. She works with clients to find the route to resolution that best fits their circumstances, including via mediation, roundtable meetings, private hearings and arbitration, as well as more traditional court litigation.

Daisy has been praised by clients for her diligence and dedication to their cases, and the support she offers at what is often an intense and challenging time.

After completing her undergraduate degree at Pembroke College, Oxford University, Daisy first worked at AFP as a paralegal before completing her training contract at Payne Hicks Beach. She rejoined the firm in March 2015, having gained experience at top-ranked London family practices. She was promoted to Senior Associate in March 2018.

Away from the office, Daisy sings in an all-female choir (with whom she has recorded albums and regularly performs, including internationally). She also loves to travel – the more remote the better!
